Trying to do too much

Are you trying to do too much?

In our busy lives it is easy to over commit to the amount we try and achieve. Messages fly in from schools, friends, family and employer all demanding our attention whilst at the same time we feel pressure in our mind to organise events and try and please everyone.

All of this pressure can lead to planning anxiety or ‘Planxiety’ as we continue on an ever more complex path of events.

Signs that you are trying to do too much in life:

– Always rushing
– Feeling like you never have time to focus on things
– Half finished tasks
– Feeling overwhelmed by the amount of things to plan
– Calendar booked far into the future
– Unable to recall the last time you did something unplanned or spur of the moment.

Does this sound familiar?

Why not try:
– Leaving space for doing nothing
– Trying to do half as much as you think you can do
– Only checking messages at certain times of the day and for a certain length of time
– Setting some personal goals to help you prioritise only the most important tasks and events
– Meditation to start to tell yourself a different story about the most important things to plan in your life.
